Estimated Mileage and costs

Here you go guys.
Some of this might not be too accurate.
I added 100 miles ( LEWAY miles )
I used my dads old address in Hyde Park as a starting point and I used a sample address in Denton to see the Ideal Mileage.
Please take a look and feel free to correct me.

Total Estimated Distance: 223.76 miles

DENTON TO KANSAS CITY - Total Estimated Time: 7 hours 56 minutes

Raw Mileage : 2588.03

MPG: About 10
2688.03 / 10 = 268.803
Multiply by Avg. Gas Cost - 2.15

SXSW Bands to Meet

Below is a list of Bands playing SXSW that I have found on the OFFICIAL listings only. I am going to try and meet these people, give them a FG album, and hope for the best! There are a few I missed, mostly because their name sounded really, really lame. Some of these bands are really, really lame, but so what, they might be really cool and help us out! I've made little notes to myself about genre, and if I like them, next to some of the names, hope it's not terrible cryptic.

Advice from Wise Men- SXSW

All,

I've been talking to village elders, collecting advice from their experiences playing music on tour. One message has been loud and clear in all their voices, "Take advantage of SXSW!" Basically, we won't need to email, myspace, and pester people through communications channels if we meet them during SXSW. Everyone we need to meet, everyone that can give us a show in these cities, all the cool bands we need to play with and the radio dj's will be present, in our town, next week.

The elders have cried, "Save yourself the trouble and meet these people face to face, get thier phone number, tell them your plans, give them your music free, in hopes that they can offer a helping hand on tour. You need to be willing to approach people that look like they can help you, you need to make a point to find bands from your tour-cities, watch thier shows and meet them."

FG is playing Wednesday and Thursday, but I plan on networking as much as I can Friday and Saturday, and perhaps a little on the sabbath. As I tell you this I'm inviting you to come out and network, with or without me, and help all of us avoid future headaches and turmoil by contact folks now, in the convienence of our home city.

Also, advice which I value, though take with salt, has been that our tour plans are logistically ambitiious; not impossible, but ambitious. It has been suggested that we take a more narrow path to Chicago to minimize miles, mayhem, and potential mishaps. This route may avoid Nebraska, MN, and curve off ~800 miles from our trip, while still providing plenty of worthwile cities. This is something to stew on, we can decide as time progresses.

Compilation

Ideally I need a Falcon Buddies CD this weekend at the latest. Then I can import them and FG songs into a project file and we'll be ready to master when we meet at my place March 28th or 29th. I'll probably do it earlier myself, then we can just check it when we meet and get the artwork, etc together. I was thinking we should do it again on Sunday Morning at 11am, 3/29. Lemme know.

I'm about to get some lists together for Nashville and Kansas. So we're not working double, I'll email you my lists as soon as I'm done to Morris for Kansas (also Lincon and Omaha) and Tizoc for Nashville.
Also, I made the graphic above for myself, but ya'll may find it useful. Notice there are two geographic routes, clockwise and counter clockwise; and that either way we spend the 12th and 13th in Chicago, so those days may end up being the most secure, at least for now. I'm going to try and book shows in the respective dates and hope everyone works with us...

Without Wax,
Mike D
